Yes, he was a rogue but each year it sure is fun to see him sail into the city with a truce flag and negotiate with the mayor for control of Fort Walton. This pirate uprising is the 53rd annual festival, and events include local and regional bands, food, arts and crafts, pirates, a treasure hunt, a torchlight parade, children’s activities, fireworks and more.
