Sign up for a ghost tour and you can encounter some of these spirits and listen to tales of their lives and their deaths. Ghost Tours of St. Augustine leads three different story-filled excursions: one on foot, one on the water and one on wheels. Each lasts approximately an hour, and the sailing tour includes refreshments accompanied by a singing, tale-spinning crew. Ancient City Tours hosts a nightly walking tour called A Ghostly Encounter, as well as a trolley tour (call for a schedule) named Ghosts & Gravestones. Both options visit the Spanish Military Hospital Museum, which has been certified as a haunted building by the Northeast Florida Paranormal Association. With Haunted St. Augustine, you can become a paranormal field investigator during a nightly two-hour tour. Harry C. Stafford, Ph.D., educates tour-goers on the science of ghost hauntings and distributes investigative equipment, such as electromagnetic field meters. Castillo de San Marcos and two cemeteries are among the places visited.
