Women with a love of and talent for stitching meet each Wednesday at a quilt shop in Lytle, Texas, to create these gifts for servicemembers. “It is our way of sharing our support for our brave military men and women. On Nov. 18, MOAA will hold its annual meeting in the morning, followed by a luncheon with a keynote address and signature seminar sessions that give attendees the choice among legislative updates, council and chapter affairs, benefits information updates, and two financial education sessions. D-Day Monument T he Naval Order of the United States is leading a drive to erect a monument to the U.S. Navy at Utah Beach in Normandy, France. The goal is to dedicate the monument June 6, 2008. The Naval Order will raise the necessary funds to prepare the site, construct the foundation, MILITARY OFFICER create the bronze casting, transport and erect the monument, and finance the dedication ceremony. All contributions are tax-deductible and go to the Naval Order of the United States Foundation, an IRS Code Sec. 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization. Contributors of $25,000 or more will receive a 12-inch-high bronze replica of the monument. All contributions of $1,000 or more will receive a suitable acknowledgement.
