He served in the U.S. Army, Army Air Corps, and U.S. Air Force. He was born June 20, 1917, and raised in Haverhill, Mass. He died Nov. 13, 1951, in a C-82 plane crash on Mount Dore, France. At the time of death, he was the CO of “M” Flight, selected to organize and operate APO 16 in Bordeaux, France. He was stationed with his wife, Lorraine, and two sons, John Jr. and Michael, at Rhein-Main AFB, Germany. Contact: P.
