Al Bush, USN-Ret. (life member since 1977): After starting his career as an aviation electrician, Bush went through officer training to become an airborne electronic warfare evaluator, retiring in 1967 after 21 years of service, primarily as a West Coast sailor. Post-military life included time in insurance and real estate, and after a brief second retirement, Bush now works part-time as a safety officer for a commercial builder in southern Maryland. Capt. Richard Bush, USN-Ret. (life member since 2002): Like his father, Al (above), Richard retired from the Navy. In 30 years of service, he was an antisubmarine warfare helicopter pilot and a naval attaché in Argentina, among other assignments. He now is the deputy chief of operations for U.S. Army South at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. His son represents the third generation of Bush family naval service: Justin Bush is assigned to the Office of Naval Intelligence in Suitland, Md. Capt. Stephen Evans, USN (member since 2006): Evans is a graduate of The Citadel, Charleston, S.C., and earned his master’s degree in national security and strategic studies at the Naval War College, Newport, R.I. He has served in numerous operational assignments in the fleet and in shore-duty assignments and currently is the director for professional development at the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. Steve Harmon, USA (member since 2008): These newlyweds recently relocated from Utah to San Antonio so Steve could begin his first assignment as a nurse at Brooke Army Medical Center. Katie is involved with Army Family Team Building and volunteers with Army Family Action Plan, a forum for soldiers and family members to discuss grassroots issues with Army leadership.
