THE ENERGY OF MANY The Next Great Meeting Toolbox THERE’S A GOOD CHANCE YOU’RE READING THIS EDITION OF ONE+ ON THE ONE+ TABLET APP (LAUNCHING AT THE WORLD EDUCATION CONGRESS). Our publications team has designed a tool that offers rich, interactive engagement experiences for the estimated 69 percent of One+ readers who will own tablet computers by the end of this year. This app will be your indispensable professional development and meeting industry news tool. Our community members have consistently sought access to relevant and powerful tools to make their jobs easier and drive business outcomes for their delegates and clients. And technology has delivered beyond our wildest dreams—from registration, housing and room-diagramming tools to audience response and (coming soon) augmented reality technology. Our cup runneth over. For years MPI, the MPI Foundation and our partners have invested in powerful resources for your professional toolboxes. A sampling of our current library: the MPI MPI CultureActive Tool (in partnership with ive the IMEX Group), Meetings Deliver research (in partnership with AIBTM) and the Sustainable Event Measuretainable ment Tool (in partnership with IHG). in Coming soon will be new measureon ment tools as part of our Business Value of Meetings initiative with s AIBTM and new d research on the future of meetings (with Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts, s, Omni Hotels ls and Resorts and PSAV Presentation Services). And as MPI members, these are all free to you. It’s important to remember, though, that sometimes the tool that will help your meeting change the world isn’t digitally inspired. In June, I participated in two event-based community service projects: one with delegates at the Pacific Rim Incentive and Meeting Exchange in Honolulu and one in Dallas with our entire Team MPI staff. In these cases our toolboxes consisted of hammers, pliers, paintbrushes, shovels and brooms— powered by sweat, water and granola bars. And when it was all said and done, these simple tools made profound differences at the shelters and daycare facilities at which they were used. They helped change the world in even the smallest of places. As meetings and events grow in economic and social importance, MPI and our partners are committed to making sure our community continues to have access to the tools and the thinking thin that makes a difference for differenc all of us. 10 one+ 07.1 1 > The MPI Foundation continues its drive to provide innovative, career-building thought leadership development through the following key industry partnerships.
