A plan emerges After some research, head scratching and discussion, a plan emerged: 1. Combine two of the three rooms by removing an inner wall. Figs. 1, 2, 3, 4 show the room after this was done, and give a general idea of what the space looked like before we began putting up the new walls. 2. Build a three-layer floating floor: the bottom layer from mineral wool specifically meant for floors, then two layers of floor plasterboard, joined with glue. (For stability, it is important that the seams in the two plasterboard layers don’t overlap anywhere.) See Fig. 5. 3. Attach curtains on the inner side of the old window wall.
