NAEP New Member Welcome Kit 2008-2009 - (Page 6) GET CONNECTED - Nationally Committees Committees are an essential link between NAEP’s leadership and its members. They provide valuable input concerning new or existing programs and assist the Board and National Office. Much of the work within NAEP is accomplished by dedicated members who volunteer. NAEP annually provides members with an opportunity to get involved. In addition to deriving a sense of satisfaction from contributing, our volunteers also make valuable professional contacts and gain information useful to their institutions. The NAEP Committee structure includes: 6 Awards: The role of this Committee is to solicit and evaluate nominations for the many awards of honor with NAEP. Editorial Board: This Committee sets the editorial calendar for our quarterly magazine, the NAEP Journal. Their insights on industry perspectives on subjects of current interest keep our magazine at a world-class level. Professional Development: The role of this Committee is to review all NAEP institutes and seminars and recommend changes relative to curriculum, faculty and new initiatives. Membership: This Committee assists in the recruitment and retention of members working with the Regions, E&I and other associations. Nominating: This Committee reports to the membership and is responsible for nominating two candidates for office of 2nd Vice-President each year and one candidate for Treasurer every five years.
