No matter what your interest, Dallas offers something for everyone! IF YOU ARE . . . A HISTORY BUFF. Head to historic Fair Park, with nine museums open year-round, including the first national comprehensive Women’s Museum, the Hall of State, the African American Museum, the Museum of Nature and Science, and more. AN ART LOVER. Visit the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, and the Crow Collection of Asian Art in the Arts District. As a matter of fact, Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs (the King Tut exhibit) opens at the Dallas Museum of Art on October 3, 2008, for a seven-month engagement! A MUSIC APPRECIATOR. The Deep Ellum neighborhood is recognized as a birthplace of early 20th century blues musicians. Today, it is still a hub for live music every weekend. The famous House of Blues and the posh rooftop lounge Ghostbar in the W Hotel are also great spots to enjoy music. A SPORTS FAN. Enjoy a Dallas Mavericks basketball game or a Dallas Stars hockey game at the American Airlines Center. Or see the Dallas Cowboys in action at Texas Stadium. A NATURE ENTHUSIAST. Visit the Dallas World Aquarium’s 85,000-gallon saltwater exhibit and walk-through rain forest. Spend an afternoon at the Dallas Arboretum, which houses beautiful gardens and is open year-round, or amid the Dallas Zoo’s 95 acres of interactive exhibits and exotic animals. LOOKING FOR A DELICIOUS MEAL. With more than 6,000 dining options in the Dallas area, it’s easy to find something to suit every palate. Dallas offers cuisine created by such renowned chefs as Dean Fearing, Stephan Pyles, Kent Rathbun, and John Tesar. Be sure to try a Tex-Mex dish and some famous Texas barbeque!
