LOS ANGELES AWAITS

Founded in 1781, Los Angeles is one of the country’s oldest cities and continues to be home to a growing diversity of cultures. Several of the leading universities in the world are also based here.

A center of innovation, Los Angeles is the headquarters for multiple industries focused on business, science, technology, medicine, and research, making it the perfect site for this year’s NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo.

The “City of Angels” offers one-of-a-kind experiences for first-time visitors and those making a return trip to Southern California. With its near-perfect weather, scenic locations, and entertainment, Los Angeles has something for everyone.

Outdoors

Los Angeles may be best known for its miles of sunny beaches. But visitors can also enjoy hiking, including at the popular Runyon Canyon, which provides perfect views of both the city and the San Fernando Valley. Griffith Park, one of the largest urban parks in North America and home to the famous Griffith Observatory, also provides multiple walking trails.

Neighborhoods

Hollywood may be the most well-known of Los Angeles neighborhoods, but there are many to explore throughout the city. Santa Monica features great shopping and the popular pier overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Venice Beach is perfect for people watching and strolling along its walkable canals. Finally, Beverly Hills is where you just might rub shoulders with the city’s many celebrities, especially along famous Rodeo Drive.
