ChinA SCholArShipS: thE 100,000 Strong initiAtivE
he U.S. State Department recently announced that the Chinese Ministry of Education is offering 10,000 scholarships through the China Scholarship Council for U.S. college students to study at many top Chinese universities. The scholarships are part of the Obama administration’s 100,000 Strong Initiative, which has a goal of sending 100,000
U.S. students to China to study over the next few years. This opportunity is offered under the U.S.-China Consultation on People-to-People Exchange (known as “CPE scholarships”) and scholarships are available only to students at U.S. colleges and universities that have formal, credit-transfer partnerships with certain Chinese universities.
