In 2006, NAMM also launched its Wanna Play? national consumer campaign, which promotes music making to the public using the power of celebrity stories and encourages consumers to visit their local community NAMM Member music retailer—another effort helping to grow the market. Many of NAMM’s marketing ideas are generated around the concept of Recreational Music Making, a grassroots musical movement that encompasses enjoyable group music-based activities uniting people of all ages and levels of experience.
