All voting Members received a proxy ballot in the mail to elect the eight Members nominated for the new slate of the 2009 NAMM Board of Directors. You are encouraged to participate in the voting process to be sure your voice is heard in this election. DICK BOAK C.F. Martin & Co., Inc. Dick Boak is the director of artist and public relations, as well as archivist for C.F. Martin & Co., a guitarmanufacturing firm. Dick currently serves on the boards of The Martin Guitar Charitable Foundation, The SingOut! Corporation and The Association of Stringed Instrument Artisans (ASIA). He is the recipient of ASIA’s Lifetime Achievement Award. RAY VAN STRATEN qSC Audio Products, LLC Ray van Straten is director of entertainer solutions at QSC Audio Products, a pro-audio and sound reinforcement manufacturer. He is a 25-year veteran of the MI industry. jEFF FALGIEN Keyboard Concepts Inc. Jeff Falgien is the vice president/partner for Keyboard Concepts Inc., a five-store retailer of pianos. Jeff is a recipient of a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for outstanding and invaluable service to the community, and he is a member of the Retail Print Music Dealers Association. CHRISTOPHER WHITE White House of Music, Inc. Christopher White is the president and CEO of White House of Music, a sixstore, full-line retail chain. Christopher is a past president of the National Association of Young Music Merchants, and a current member of the National Association of School Music Dealers and the Alliance of Independent Music Merchants. GARY FORKUM Fork’s Drum Closet Gary Forkum is the owner of Fork’s Drum Closet, an independent percussion retail store. Gary is a member of the Five-Star Drum Shop Marketing Group. RICK YOUNG Yamaha Corporation of America Rick Young is the senior vice president for Yamaha Corporation of America, a full-line manufacturer, and president of Yamaha Artist Services. In addition, Rick is chairman of the Music Achievement Council and senior vice president of the Yamaha Music Wellness Institute. He is also a member of the Music Distributors Association, the National Association of School Music Dealers and the SupportMusic Coalition. KURT LISTUG Taylor Guitars Kurt Listug is the co-founder and CEO of Taylor Guitars, a combo manufacturer with 600 employees. The company was founded in 1974. PHIL RICH Guitar Center, Inc. Phil Rich is the director of merchandise for the guitar department of Guitar Center, a full-line chain of music product retail stores.
