Load Lifter Solutions offering innovative transportation products LOAD LIFTER SOLUTIONS’ PRECAST CARRIER Load Lifter Solutions LLC, based in Petoskey, Mich., has developed several innovations for transporting precast concrete panels. The small company recently designed its Precast Carrier (PCC) with load stabilizing racks and a patented axle system for hauling panels up to 13 feet high and 50 feet long. The proprietary tri-axle system (no through axles) features a DOT-approved anti-lock braking system and six-wheel independent air ride suspension, the key elements that provide for the low, wide center load bay. The PCC has another unique feature in that the load bay can be easily extended from 42 feet to 52 feet for an overall length of 63 feet. With the precast panels upright in the center load bay, the PCC can move day or night with no need for load registrations or highway permits, says the company. In addition, hauling panels upright reduces the risk of damage and cracking that can occur when hauling panels flat or even on an A-frame rack. The standard PCC can be easily modified to meet gross vehicle weight restrictions and highway regulations for each state or province. Load Lifter Solutions’ in-house engineering team can even modify the basic design within a few days. The PCC carrier can be converted to a flat bed using the fold-down stabilizing racks, and the optional Double Tee Rack System (DTRS) can haul precast double-T highway sections. The PCC also can be used for carrying pipe sections and other precast products. Another special feature is the Integrated Precast Rack System (IPRS), which can “self unload” a full rack of precast panels at a job site, allowing the hauler to pick up an empty rack.
