Targeting specifiers In addition to Precast University technical training, The Precast Show will include educational courses in six tracks, including four courses under a new Sustainability track and a new Quality track. The educational component will also include the Industry Leadership Series, which provides curriculum designed specifically for specifiers and regulators. Sessions in this series address the many benefits of precast concrete products and expose attendees to the latest products and processes in the industry. ACPA will also provide a block of training in conjunction with The Precast Show, holding its 2009 Production Short Course School Feb. 18-20 at the Hyatt Regency Houston. ACPA will also hold its annual safety awards luncheon, plant tours and machinery clinics in connection with The Precast Show. Interest in the new event has been strong, with more than 225 exhibitors already on the trade show floor. “We’ve had lots of excitement and early interest,” Gable said. “We’ve had more commitments for booth space at an earlier date than with any of our previous trade shows.” The show floor is moving toward 90 percent sold, but Gable said there is room to expand if needed. While there will be plenty of networking time during the trade show, the big social event of The Precast Show will take place Saturday, Feb. 20, at the close of the second day. The Salute to Excellence will include a massive reception, an awards program and a special performance by LeAnn Rimes, Grammy Awardwinning recording artist and one of the brightest stars in all of country music.
