Smith-Midland beefs up sales team Smith-Midland Corp., Midland, Va., has made some significant changes to its sales team. Matthew Smith was promoted to vice president of Sales & Marketing; George Sharikas was promoted to sales manager, Utility Products Division; and Terry Ray Utterback joined the company’s Sales Department as a sales representative. Smith, who has been with SmithMidland for 19 years, will be responsible for directing and overseeing all sales and marketing activities for the company. He spent three years as the sales manager at Smith-Carolina Corp. in Reidsville, N.C., and nine years as the sales manager of the Utility Products Division in Midland. Smith earned his degree in business administration from Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, Va., where he now serves as the national chair of the Bridgewater Fund Committee.
