By the mid 1990s at Hy-Grade Precast, Dominic was comfortable. “I felt good. I saw the results of my own ideas and took satisfaction in living and dying by my own decisions – having an impact on where the company goes,” he said. “The corporations I had worked for in the past were huge; you could maybe make a little change, but you didn’t feel like you were a major player.” On a personal note … When asked what is most important to him, Dominic answers unequivocally: “I’d like to be known as a person with integrity and one whose family is most important to him. I strive for continuous improvement. I want to continue to learn and to develop people here at Hy-Grade.” Dominic has been married to Donnell, a nurse, for 14 years and has a son, Noah, 11, and a daughter, Alyssa, 10. “I spend as much time as possible with my family,” he said. “I am a pilot with an instrument rating. I am absolutely passionate about flying.” Though Dominic Girotti is a serious-minded electrical engineer and pilot through rigorous education and training, he hopes that he is learning to “take himself less seriously.” At Hy-Grade, staff and management are genuinely enthusiastic about taking on challenges and for completing a job well done. This company puts people first.
