Kirby O’Malley as chairman-elect and Dan Houk as secretary/treasurer. Randy Lindsay-Brisbin, vice president and general manager with Firebaugh Precast Inc. in Colorado Springs, Colo., has been named chairman of the board of the National Precast Concrete Association. He was elected to head the international trade association Sept. 21 during NPCA’s 43rd Annual Convention in Ottawa. Lindsay-Brisbin started his career at Lindsay Concrete Products in Canal Fulton, Ohio, in 1993, moving to Firebaugh Precast in 1996 when the company was acquired by Lindsay. Prior to joining the precast concrete industry, Lindsay-Brisbin spent 10 years as a community organizer and urban planner in Washington, D.C., and New York City. That grassroots experience will play a role in Lindsay-Brisbin’s goals for NPCA during the next 12 months. In addition to leading key NPCA initiatives such as the debut of The Precast Show and the launch of Precast University, LindsayBrisbin will be working to encourage other precast concrete-related trade Blecha receives Robert E. Yoakum Award at NPCA Annual Convention Joan Blecha, president of the United States’ southeast region for Hanson Pipe & Precast, has been named the 2008 Robert E. Yoakum Award recipient by the National Precast Concrete Association. Blecha, based in Green Cove Springs, Fla., received the award during the NPCA 43rd Annual Convention Sept. 21 in Ottawa. NPCA presents the Yoakum Award annually to an individual who has made a major impact in the precast concrete industry, according to Ty E. Gable, NPCA president. The recipient is chosen by a committee of past Yoakum Award winners.
