U.S. Concrete Precast Group in San Diego (formerly San Diego Precast Concrete Inc.), a U.S. Concrete company, has announced a merger with Pomeroy Corp. of Perris, Calif. This endeavor will create new synergies in the precast concrete product market to benefit both companies and their stakeholders. Both facilities will continue to manufacture quality concrete products. Pomeroy’s origin dates back to the early 1900s, when it began as a general contractor that specialized in the erection of structural steel. In the mid 1950s, the company saw great opportunity in the precast, prestressed concrete market and acquired an 80-acre plant on the Petaluma River to service the booming San Francisco Bay area. Over the years, the company has operated plants in Florida, Arizona, Massachusetts and its POMEROY CORP. WAS ACQUIRED BY U.S. CONCRETE PRECAST GROUP current plant in Southern California. The 40-acre site in Perris is capable of producing a variety of precast, prestressed concrete components focused primarily on the structural market. Some of the products Pomeroy produces include bridge girders, railroad crossties, parking structures, piles and pavement slabs. U.S. Concrete Precast Group in San Diego, in operation since 1975, operates from a new 18-acre facility.
