Thornton was a quality manager for concrete production at a nuclear power plant site in Ohio and also worked for several years as a manager overseeing engineering and quality control for a precast company in New York State. He has extensive experience in the design, manufacturing and installation of precast products for use in state, municipal and private projects. Thornton currently serves on the NPCA Technical Committee as well as the ASTM C27 Committee. interviews with experienced specifying engineers in the construction industry in an effort to share information about opportunities and innovations offered by precast concrete. Delta Engineers provides specialty engineering services for precasters including structural engineering, shop drawings, erection drawings, quality control plans, design and estimating software, and technical consulting. Q. HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE YOUR POSITION AT DELTA ENGINEERS? A. As a project manager, I am responsible for overseeing various projects to assure that the services we deliver are done properly within the budget and scope of work requested by the client. I have the added responsibility of business development, which is the fun part of my job where I get to network with others in the industry and come up with creative ways to better serve the needs of our clients.
