As every year, organizers of this year’s program have gone to special lengths to present a cutting-edge program centering on the ways in which county government impacts every citizen in every community. “We learn from each other - especially from each other’s successes - and networking with our collegues is always the best way to address common challenges,” said ACCG President, Bulloch County Commissioner Jan Tankersley. “More and more, local government is called upon to define the tenor of what government can do for people, how government responds to challenges and crises, and how our communities will address their futures, including what communities will be like in the future. Fostering community is the essence of our job as elected officials.” Counties serve needs that are mandated by the state – from public health to environmental facilities and comprehensive strategic planning – that affect every citizen. Never has the scope of county government been more comprehensive, and never has its relevance GEORGIA COUNTY GOVERNMENT The Coca-Cola Company pours its famous beverages on a complimentary basis for visitors throughout the meeting.
