it’ll operate countywide, with cities opting into the system, Hankerson says. Two of the county’s cities, in fact, came along to survey 311 systems in other jurisdictions. It’s typical of the partnership and cooperation between the county and its municipalities throughout Cobb on many such broad-based initiatives. “If we start a system like this together, it’s easier and more efficient than if we try to include the municipalities later,” Hankerson sums up. “In terms of purchasing the system and the necessary soft ware, we’re ahead of the game if we’re in it together with participating cities from the beginning.” Education High-quality public schools are on board in Cobb County, which operates, alongside the City of Marietta’s school system, the second largest public school system in the state.
