Lines-Northwest Airlines proposed merger, Glass said at some point informational picketing by the Northwest chapter is likely. Informational Picketing? The unions picket to try to win sympathy for their cause, Glass said. In the end, picketing does little good because the companies expect the unions will stage them. “The unions realize that any ill will they generate toward the carrier with the ﬂying public endangers the health of the airline and their jobs,” Glass said.
