She also showed the students the unique array of material samples used in corporate and private jet interiors. According to Miller, because of issues of ßammability and weight, materials selection is critical in jet design. During their day together, Huntington, the immediate past president of the ASID New York Metro Chapter, took Gibson to an auction preview at DoyleÕs and a vendorÕs book signing at the showroom of Artistic Tile, Industry Partner of ASID. He also provided Gibson with handson work experience reviewing construction drawings and speciÞcations, selecting fabrics, networking with other designers and meeting vendors at the D&D Building. 11 01 january/february/09 icon 25 http://www.asid.org
