The Communicator - Volume 1, Issue 3 - (Page 20) EBMUD needs your help in getting the message out. EBMUD staff would welcome an invitation to local Home Owner Association meetings within its service area to discuss the drought and what the new water use prohibitions and restrictions mean for you and your residents. To schedule a speaker, please contact Greg Chan in the EBMUD Public Affairs Office at (510) 287-0135 or gchan@ebmud.com. $150 for commercial grade clothes washer use in common area laundry facilities. • Up to $500 for replacing old landscape watering timers with qualifying smart irrigation controllers. • Fifty percent of the material costs of installing water-efficient equipment for commercial landscape irrigation – this would apply to common area landscaping managed by an HOA. • Up to $1,000 for single-family residential customers who replace high-water-use landscaping with lowwater-use landscaping and efficient irrigation components. • Free high-efficiency showerheads and faucet aerators when needed to replace high-flow devices. Rebates are not retroactive and restrictions apply to these offers including, but not limited to, minimum water usage requirements and some preinstallation inspections. EBMUD is doing its part to conserve. The District is responding more quickly to water system leaks, revising irrigation practices at our facilities, and reducing washing of our own fleet service vehicles. Throughout 2008-2009, EBMUD will monitor customer water use and post the status of our customer’s conservation efforts regularly on our Web site. If you have questions about conservation services and rebates, go to www.ebmud.com or call (866) 40-EBMUD. Please join EBMUD in conserving and in encouraging others to conserve so that we can protect our water supply and weather the first drought in recent memory.
