But what will someone seeking critically important information to, say, properly caring for people with chronic illness or recovering from other types of maladies find? Will Web-accessible information always be relevant and reliable? Consider: In the quest to describe CMSA’s Integrated Case Management (ICM) practice and process, a cursory Google search resulted in 42,300 hits. Yahoo! produced an astounding 24,100,000 returns. No one was surprised when a closer inspection of Web-search results revealed that the top-searched sites had little information about what CMSA considers true ICM. 8 CMSA TODAY Issue 1 • 2011
