Almost half of the 2,500 North American HR professionals surveyed by Boston HR consultants Novations Group said they now included elements such as leadership development, managing a diverse workforce, mentoring, cross-cultural training and business process review into their diversity programming. Up until recently, diversity programs meant awareness training. Now, according to a study by author Verna Ford of Novations Group, diversity programming is joining other initiatives that position people to better serve the business needs of the organization. Other elements included in organizations’ diversity programming include: rewards/recognition, affinity groups, supplier diversity training and diversity metrics.
