K O VA C THE FUTURE OF WORK AND JOB DESIGN s the concept of work continues to evolve, organizations need to be cognizant of h how and where work gets done. W We live in a 24/7 society, with access to work almost everya w where through cell phones, P PDAs, BlackBerries and wi-fi. A As new technologies are introduced, organizations must m manage both the work and the i individuals (or groups of indiv viduals) completing this work. Organizations have to adapt to “at work” not necessarily being “at the office.” A quality work is being performed outside of the typical ‘fourwalled’ facility. As this concept grows, employees are working more collaboratively on projects, understanding how their piece fits into the bigger puzzle. For successful collaboration, technical networking must support human networking.
