Powered by two GE CF34-8C1 engines, there are three versions of the 700 series—the 700, 701 and 702—the only difference is the number of seats. Basic Specs Wing Span – 76.25 Ft. Length – 106.6 Ft. Passenger Configuration – 78 Seats - All Economy A 90-seat CRJ-900 entered service in 2003 with the same fuselage cross-section as the 700 but 12 feet longer and allows for four additional rows of seating. As of October 2007, 221 have been ordered and 118 were in service. Bombardier recently announced a further stretch to the CRJ series. The CRJ-1000, powered by GE CF34-8C5A engines, will enter service in 2009. So far, 23 have been ordered. There are 264 ERJ 170s in service or on order with 24 operators representing every continent (except Antarctica!) As the above chart shows, there are 268 CRJ-700s in service or on order with 14 operators dominated by U.S. airlines. Based on the sources we have, the purchase price for a new CRJ-700 is about $0.5 million more than the ERJ 170.
