Moore, Esq. Ken Perich Warren Willits Sitting at my desk, looking out my window at a winter wonderland of snow-covered evergreens, I long for the sun of spring. This year in particular, I can hardly wait for the ISTAT 27th Annual Conference in Orlando! Our annual conference promises to be a meeting to remember. Conference CoChairs Joe Ozimek and Sigthor Einarsson have put together a compelling, high-powered program of top industry executives and observers to share their thoughts on our tumultuous industry. The ISTAT Annual Conference has become the industry’s “must-attend” event. Nowhere else will you ﬁnd the entire industry assembled in one place at one time—sharing ideas, comparing notes, reconnecting with old friends and even closing deals. I look forward to seeing you all in Orlando. As you’ll learn later in this issue from ISTAT Foundation Chairman David Sutton, we have a whole lot of activity going on with our charitable giving arm. The Scholarship Committee has been hard at work sifting through piles of applications. Also, as you’ve been hearing, the Foundation has added a humanitarian focus with ISTAT AirLink. Though we weren’t quite ready for a full launch of AirLink, Mother Nature doesn’t work to our timeline, and the disastrous Haitian earthquake presented us with a great need for service. Many fellow ISTAT members responded immediately with donations and countless hours of labor to respond to the desperate need—organizing ﬂights for the transportation of goods and aid personnel. I am humbled by the selﬂ ess work being done by our fellow members, including Roland Moore, Bob Brown, Terry McGaughan, Jon Batchelor, Nick Popovich, Al Nigro and many, many others. I am very proud to count them among my friends, and I am inspired by their selﬂ ess acts.
