Dear ISTAT fellow members, It’s ski season as I write this, but snow around here is a little thin at the moment. I’m hearing that a lot this winter from other ISTAT skiers. It makes this year’s ISTAT Americas 2012 in Scottsdale, with its great weather, look all that more inviting, and no doubt headed for another record turnout! We should have an outstanding spring conference—excellent speakers and panels, great interactions and fun social events. I hope to have the opportunity to say hello in person and thank you for your support. Meanwhile, special thanks to ISTAT Directors and Conference Co-Chairs Dan Pietrzak, Doug Runte, along with the entire ISTAT staff for all their hard work that results in getting us to Scottsdale. Our goal of making ISTAT more valuable as a member networking resource seems to be paying off. Our new holiday receptions in New York and London turned out many more members than expected. It tells us that members appreciate the chance to continue our interactions and friendships even over the busy holiday season. While we didn’t have an Asia reception during that time, members there can look forward to a reception in Singapore later this year with a similar focus. Amid the networking and social aspects, I don’t want to overlook the great work being done by the ISTAT Foundation. It extends our Society’s spirit of accomplishment on industry issues to broader world concerns like disaster relief, and scholarship support for future generations of ISTAT members. Please be open to the Foundation as it reaches out to seek our ﬁnancial support. 2012 can be another record year as we look to grow ISTAT’s relevance to our industry and us as members. Thanks for all that you do to make ISTAT as success, and don’t hesitate to let those of us on the Board know how we’re doing in that regard. See you at one of our events soon!
