How did receiving the ISTAT Foundation scholarship affect your life
and career?
Receiving the ISTAT Foundation scholarship allowed me to ﬁnish my college career
with a little less ﬁnancial burden on my back. It allowed me to complete my lifelong goal
of graduating from a major university with a degree in aviation. The scholarship also
had a major effect on my career opportunities. Soon after receiving the scholarship, I
found out it was the largest single-dollar amount ever awarded to an aviation student in
Auburn University's history. This opened many doors for me, with professors putting my
name out in the aviation industry as graduation approached, and with gaining respect
from many of my fellow students and colleges. The ISTAT scholarship helped me gain the
successful backing I needed to enter into the aviation industry.

What did you learn from attending the ISTAT Annual Conference?
By attending the ISTAT Annual Conference, I learned invaluable networking skills. I
was able to see that many of the most successful people in the airline industry weren't
successful right out of the gate, but worked diligently to get where they are today. This
helped me see how it is possible for me to be at that level one day with a lot of hard
work and perseverance.
