LOGA Industry Report - Winter 2009 - (Page 33) Business Southern-Style The 2008 show was a great success, with more than 800 participants in attendance. Sponsors and exhibitors were treated to great Mexican food and drinks sponsored by Apache Corporation at a pre-show party at the famous LaFonda’s restautaurant. Both conventional and unconventional oil and gas prospects were exhibited by companies large and small in an intimate setting that refl ected the hospitality and charm of the South. Prospects were shown from North and South Louisiana, Arkansas, East and South Texas and the Gulf of Mexico. One of the show’s highlights was a captivating keynote address by Jim Flores, president & CEO of Plains Exploration & Production. Jim spoke to all attendees and exhibitors who gathered in the Convention Center ballroom for lunch. He covered a broad range of topics, most importantly the American economic situation and how it will shape the oil and gas industry in the coming years. The 2008 Gulf Coast Prospect Expo was one to remember. A special thank you to all of the companies and individuals who attended, sponsored or assisted in GCPE’s planning and execution.
