COMMISSIONER’S COMMENTS continued For Mayor Glover’s second Haynesville Shale Informational Forum, held in Shreveport on June 21, 2008, our department was very capably represented by Jim Broussard (Shreveport district manager), Stephen Walker (Conservation’s senior attorney), and Scott Patton (OMR attorney). Sincere thanks goes to our guys for dedicating their Saturday to the mayor’s successful event, which was attended by about 1,000 people. AS YOU MAY have realized, the number of docketed oil and gas hearings is up by more than 32 percent this year It is our intention to publish on the DNR website a section on the Haynesville Shale, including an interactive map showing the unitization development/history of the Haynesville Shale, Q&As, state acreage leasing information and other pertinent activities of our department. This new site is now under construction, so stay tuned! And ﬁnally, I have received some good news from the Division of Administration that state agencies may resume the ﬁlling of vacant positions.
