Mechanical Piping Plumbing Journal 2008 - (Page 18) Hydronics Course on April 2 in Regina and April 3rd in Saskatoon. We are planning even more for the coming year. Our members continue to support the training we provide by sending their employees. This will serve our members and our industry well into the future. I will mention one more exciting initiative that MCAS is involved in. It is the “FuturePaths Pilot Project”. This is a program designed to connect youth to industry. The headline for the kick off in February is “Sowing the Seeds of our Future”. As an industry we will identify what we need as far as the number of people and the skill sets they should have and this program will train to that need. This will be a pilot project for this year in Mount Royal Collegiate in Saskatoon. Next year the project will be expanded to all of the schools in Saskatoon and than it is hoped to take it province wide the following year. The provincial government has recognized the need for training and has agreed to foot all of the costs for this program. We look forward to the possibilities that this program represents. 2008 marks the 10th Anniversary of the Residential Network Partnership between MCAS and SaskEnergy. An event is being planned for late April to celebrate. Our 65th Annual AGM will be held in Cochin at the Jackfish Lodge on May 29-30. We have a great line-up of educational seminars, meetings and entertainment. We might even make some time to go for a round golf. I look forward to meeting everyone there.
