Club Management - January/February 2008 - (Page 11) President’s Message It’s Been a Great Year came together beautifully, and I am proud beyond words to have been part of this accomplishment. Though Club Management has been around for 80 years, I would venture to guess that the positive feedback from members and other readers has never been as forthcoming as it has been over the last few months. It just keeps coming! But the good news is that this is just the beginning for the new Club Management. You can expect greater and greater things as the staff at CMAA and Naylor, together with CMAA members, industry suppliers and experts, work to refine this already incredible resource even further. This issue marks the start of a new year in our profession and a new year in CMAA leadership. So, I thank you for the opportunity to have served as your 2007 president, and I want to express my sincerest wishes to you for continued prosperity and growth – both personally and professionally – in the coming year. It has been an honor and a pleasure. All the best, C hances are, many of you are reading this message after picking up Club Management at the 81st World Conference on Club Management in Orlando. To those of you who are – welcome, congratulations on being here, and thank you for your support. Yes, it has been a great year. That may sound cliché, however, my journey over the past year as CMAA president has been anything but, and I am humbled by the experience. Of course, one of the bright spots for CMAA in 2007 was the acquisition and re-launch of this magazine. This took great effort on the part of so many, yet it Linda K. Carroll, CCM CMAA President, 2007 Linda Carroll, CCM, accepts the gavel for her 2007 CMAA presidency from CMAA CEO Jim Singerling, CCM, CEC, and 2006 CMAA President Burton Ward, CCM. Carroll will hand the gavel over to incoming CMAA President Peter Homberg, CCM, at the World Conference in Orlando. I thank you for the opportunity to have served as your 2007 president, and I want to express my sincerest wishes to you for continued prosperity and growth – both personally and professionally – in the coming year.
