Even though cleared, it reset itself later and put an end to the evening. Then there’s the city club famous for the 40-animal petting zoo on Easter every year. While not inexpensive, it’s a real treat for the city kids. One year a pig got loose as the handlers were unloading the truck. After much squealing and hollering, the errant swine was caught. Four months later the city’s Board of Health appeared unannounced with a complaint from a neighbor who thought the club was slaughtering its own pigs. Members will give you different answers if you question them about their favorite club event. Perhaps someone loved the entertainment, the food or the unique idea that brought friends together.
