He was presented a commemorative letter acknowledging the job he and his staff did during the busy week. Middle Bay Country Club in Oceanside, New York, recently added a ladies’ spa and a 2,000-bottle wine cellar. Kendal Brown is now the dining room manager at Carlouel Yacht Club in Clearwater Beach, Florida. She previously worked at the Quail Valley Golf & River Club in Vero Beach, Florida. Brown graduated from Kendal Brown the Florida State University Dedman School of Hospitality in 2006. Her grandfather, Arthur Tebell, was the general manager at Medinah Country Club, Chicago; her father, Kenneth Brown, CCM, is a past president of CMAA and is currently a partner in Elite Club Associates and Associate in Master Club Advisors (both in Florida); and her brother Christian Brown is the general manager at Twin Lakes Golf Club, Indianapolis. Bruce W. Pruitt, CCM, recently joined Annandale Golf Club in Pasadena, California, as general manager/chief operating officer. Pruitt’s 23 years of experience in the private club industry include executive assistant manager at The California Club, club manager at the Sunset Club, and general manager at the Seattle Yacht Club. After seven years in the yachting world, which included two years as chief operating officer of the New York Yacht Club, Pruitt returned to Los Angeles, assuming the role of director of operations/clubhouse manager at the Los Angeles Country Club for nine years. He has been a member of CMAA since 1984 and is a member of the Honor Society. Kurt D. Kuebler, CCM, joined Kopplin Search, Inc. as senior partner. Kurt’s esteemed club career has included the Tavistock Group, in Orlando, Florida, where he was the general manager/COO of Isleworth Golf & Country Club, Isleworth Home Services and Isleworth Community Association. Prior to Isleworth, 44 • CLUB MANAGEMENT Kurt served in a similar capacity at The Loxahatchee Club in Jupiter, Florida. Additionally, he served as vice president and general manger of Desert Highlands Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, and started his career at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan. Kurt also has served as president of the Florida Chapter of CMAA and recently completed his term as a national director for the CMAA. Isleworth Golf & Country Club in Windermere, Florida, is pleased to announce the appointment of David Kemp as its new general manager. In addition to David Kemp serving as the assistant general manager for Isleworth during the past two years, David brings more than 16 years of leadership experience in the hospitality industry to his new lead role. Over the past couple of years, David has played a vital role in Isleworth sustaining its Platinum Club of America rating. David’s role also will include leading Isleworth’s new standard of excellence for not only Isleworth Golf & Country Club, but also Isleworth Home Services and the Isleworth Community Association. Doug Bauman, head golf professional at Biltmore Country Club in North Barrington, Illinois, played in the U.S. Senior Open at Whistling Straits in July. He ended 15 over par and missed the cut, but did well considering the competition and difficulty of the Kohler, Wisconsin, course. Bauman won the Illinois PGA Sectional Champion- Doug Bauman ship in 1995 and 1996. In 1991 and 1997, he won the Illinois PGA Match Play Championship. Bauman has been a participant in the Western Open Golf Tournament eight times during his career. For the third year in a row, the employees at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, bought a $5,000 wish through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
