Club Management - September/October 2007 - (Page 49) Inside CMAA Finding Solutions Get the most out of GIS 2008 by utilizing the Clubhouse Solution Center and literature, and assist attendees in locating vendors, products and services available on the show floor. The networking area, designed to facilitate conversation and electronic sharing, will surround CMAA Central. In addition to having one-on-one conversations, attendees will be encouraged to log in their thoughts, comments and responses to questions posed on large screens placed around the perimeter of the area. Questions will be drawn from current business challenges pertaining to business units found under the clubhouse roof: i.e., food and beverage, pro shop, spa, fitness, catering, etc. Questions displayed on the screens will be changed at regular intervals throughout the day. Attendees will respond to the questions via keyboards placed throughout the area. Answers also will also be available on the Web after the show. The four corners on the outer perimeter of the Solution Center will he used to display new technologies in the club industry. Participating companies will provide an interactive, self-contained display. All displays will have appropriate signage explaining the function, attributes and solution the technology provides. All displayed products will be presented in a manner that encourages hands-on activity. Company representatives and/or volunteers will be available to assist attendees, demonstrate products and answer questions. But do you have a plan to maximize time and efforts when you arrive? Look to the CMAA Clubhouse Solution Center for help. This show floor area will provide attendees a place to share business challenges and solutions with peers, give tips for navigating the show floor and expose attendees to technological advances in the club industry. The center will consist of three components: CMAA Central (an information center), a networking area with real-time electronic sharing, and a state-of-the-art technology display area.
