news briefs Better Business Bureau Selects Velocity for Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics MPI SAN DIEGO member Velocity Audio Visual Services, San Diego’s premier owner-operated audio visual company, was honored with a Torch Award for business ethics at the 10th annual San Diego Better Business Bureau Torch Awards on Dec. 4 at the Town & Country Resort and Hotel. “Receiving this honor has great meaning to Velocity because we strive to bring integrity and ethics to the businesses and non-proﬁts we serve in San Diego and nationwide,” said Dave Howell, managing partner for Velocity. It was the ﬁ rst time ever an audio visual company has been honored with Torch Award recognition from the San Diego Better Business Bureau. Velocity received ﬁ nalist recognition in the category of one to four employees and was one of only 20 companies to be recognized for marketplace ethics in 2007. The entry process for the Torch Awards is extensive, and winners and ﬁ nalists were selected by a panel of independent judges.
