The Double Barrel Green system is a major break through in warm-mix asphalt technology because it does not require the addition of expensive commercial additives. Instead, water is injected into the mix along with the liquid asphalt cement. The injection of water causes the liquid asphalt to foam and expand in volume. The foaming action helps the liquid asphalt coat the aggregate at a lower temperature. Astec, Inc. Astec Mobile Screens, an Astec Industries Inc, Co. introduced the ProSizerT 2612V in 2007. This mobile screening plant is the complete solution for processing RAP millings. Fractionating RAP material back to its original size will allow higher RAP usage and replacement of virgin aggregates; RAP ﬁnes have twice as much AC content as ½” x ¼" RAP. This allows the producer to increase RAP usage while adding ﬂexibility and improved control in mix designs. The ProSizer incorporates a double deck PEP VariVibe® high frequency screen with horizontal shaft impactor (HSI) crusher. The quick set up time of less than 15 minutes allows the producer to move around to multiple job sites and process RAP back to its original size. Hydraulic screen angle adjustment and rotary screen tensioning system can meet the different RAP application demands with ease. This unit has central grease points and easy-to-reach engine controls for routine service.
