TOOLS FOR THE TRADE BOMAG Paver Features Power and Ergonomics BOMAG’s 4413 self-propelled asphalt paver is powered by a 60-horsepower, Cummins A-series water-cooled diesel engine, turbocharged for consistent power at all altitudes. An exclusive load-sensing hydraulic system saves on fuel consumption by delivering power only when needed. The 4413 features a track-drive system undercarriage with welded-steel crawler style components. Six sealed rollers per side carry the weight of the machine, while bolt-on rock guards installed on the inside and outside of each track drive prevent asphalt from loading up on the chains. Dual operating positions provide control from either side of the paver. The operator station has been rotated back towards the operator to keep all controls within easy reach. Upper platforms are cushioned in rubber to reduce vibration and the lower walk boards extend to promote easier mobility. The 4413 offers paving widths rang- ing from 8 to 13 feet, making it ideal for driveway, parking lot, asphalt repair, and resurfacing applications. Case Compact Excavator Delivers Power and Comfort Case Construction Equipment’s CX17B Compact Excavator delivers more power, greater stability and faster cycle times than the CX14 it replaces. The Case CX17B offers 15.15 net horsepower, a swing speed of 0-8.6 rpm, and a bucket force of 3,417 lb. Along with the power upgrades, cycle times are faster due to a larger-capacity hydraulic pump. In addition, working range is increased by nearly half a foot with a longer boom. The CX17B has hydraulic retractable tracks that allow the machine to pass through a 39-inch opening, making it an excellent choice for landscaping, utilities, demolition, construction, or industrial use. Pilot-operated hand controls deliver comfortable, highly responsive functionality. For maximum productivity, a selectable control-pattern changer lets operators choose their preferred control pattern. The center-swing boom design provides productive digging around stationary objects or alongside obstacles.
