The Connector - Spring 2008 - (Page 17) RWAU Rural Water News Continued… Rural Water Association, and Dave Welch, a representative of Hydro Specialties, (our Associate member of the year), tasted, smelled, and scrutinized the top three water samples before they made the final decision. When the results were in, the Grand Prize winner was Oakley City. Centerville City took second place, and the Upper Country Water Improvement District near Altamont, Utah took third. A representative from Oakley City will accompany RWAU’s Legislative representatives back to Washington DC for the National Rural Water Association’s (NRWA) Water Rally and represent Utah in the National Taste Test. The NRWA Water Rally will be held in April. with the projects. Our very own door prizes were drawn on Friday, with the best ratio of prizes to participants in the land! We realized that many of our members are political entities, cities-towns-districts, and we knew that these members already qualified for insurance coverage by ULGT. It was then discovered that the Trust was willing to extend many of their insurances coverage to our other members. The RWAU Board turned this discussion with the Trust over to the Private Water Systems Committee, because these members could benefit greatly from this offer.
