The Connector - Spring 2008 - (Page 18) Spring 2008 Rural Water News Continued… At the RWAU conference in St. George, the Committee met with representatives from the Trust. It was unanimously decide to allow the Utah Local Government Trust to approach our membership with their insurance offerings. Here are some of their offerings: • Liability • Auto Physical Damage • Property • Medical • Dental • Life • Long Term Care • Retirement Programs The insurance offerings of the ULGT will be based on what the current State laws will allow them to offer our private water system members. There will be information from the Trust forth coming to our membership. The Trust will also be offering a class at our Summer Conference in Layton, this August, outlining their program. We will see you there. RWAU Operator Certification and Cross Connection training and certification opportunities. As a result of this, we at the Rural Water Association of Utah have stepped up our efforts of assure that you as water and wastewater operators have every opportunity possible to continue receiving this valuable training. We currently have Operator Certification Training scheduled for April 1-3 of this year which will be held at the Hampton Inn which is located just across the street to the south of UVSC (UVU). We encourage you to take advantage of these training opportunities and look for our fliers and agendas in the mail. You can also call our office at 801-756-5123 if you have any questions about upcoming training events that we will be hosting in the Utah County area, or any of our other trainings as well. UVSC (UVU) and Rural Water As you may already know, in recent weeks UVSC has changed to UVU, and as a result they have terminated some of the training and certification that they have conducted for several years.
