Rural Water - Quarter 3, 2008 - (Page 10) When there is something worth protecting, we do what we have to in order to survive. I am very proud of our national board members and state associations for their perseverance in continuing to grow the organization when their programs and staff were facing cuts. Administrator Steven Johnson for his vision and collaboration in making this a reality. We hope that many more meetings like this will advance our industr y by strengthening our relationships through better understanding of our respective missions. NRWA has successfully achieved additional resources in staff support on the legislative front. We have added two new staff persons in the DC office to work closer with our congressional delegation and members to seek the fiscal resources our association needs to fulfill its mission and vision. Additionally, the farm bill will bring some much needed relief, with an additional 120 million dollars to fund small system infrastructure backlog. On top of that, we are anticipating full funding on our training, TA and wellhead programs for the ensuing budget year. Last, as I leave the post, I want to personally thank each of you again for sharing the vision of rural water, as our vision is bright. I appreciate the effort that you have made in promoting the value of water and where it stands now and for the future in the global industry ranking. From all of this I have witnessed firsthand throughout the country as I have traveled a true commitment to service. Excellence in service is important. Excellence is doing common things in an uncommon way! Finally, thanks to all the dedicated NRWA staff and state association staff for your tireless efforts to professionalism and commitment, for you define TEAM RURAL WATER!! 10/12/07 2:38:55 PM Tough, Durable E-Coat Protects Ford iron products from a harsh world The Ford Meter Box Co., Inc. www.fordmeterbox.com 260-563-3171 10 • Third 352231_Ford.indd 1 Quarter 2008 http://www.fordmeterbox.com
