New to the exhibit hall this year were the “Networking Pavilions,” which proved to be popular with the crowds. In addition to the record-setting attendance, the WaterPro Conference hosted a speaker slate that included NRWA President Joe Liles, USDA’s Rural Development Rural Utilities Service Administrator Dallas Tonsager, NRWA CEO Rob Johnson and a warm welcome from NRWA Board Member from Tennessee, Larry McElroy. The 36th annual WaterPro Conference was held September 24-26 in Nashville. THE RURAL WATER family of professionals gathered at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center for three days of educational sessions and exhibits during the WaterPro Conference, held September 24-26 in Nashville. The WaterPro Conference was the 36th annual National Rural Water Association conference. President Liles called the association’s sponsors to the stage to present them with unique trophies as CST Storage Systems, USABluebook and CoBank were recognized for their generous contributions to Rural Water. The NRWA Awards of Excellence followed the opening remarks with Awards Committee Chairman Kent Watson introducing the awards committee, which included Bob Culver, Idaho; Gary Ensign, Colorado; Larry McElroy, Tennessee; Bill Robinson, Missouri; and Glen Womack, Louisiana. He then began describing award after award with glowing praise for the outstanding accomplishments of the state associations, with President Liles presenting the awards.
