Chapter News South Florida FEATURED BOARD MEMBER Norma single-handedly secured the items for the August 2007 SEC Silent Auction, and because of her efforts, more than $11,000 was raised for the chapter. She obtained two roundtrip business class tickets on American Airlines to Buenos Aires, together with a ﬁve-night stay at the Sheraton Buenos Aires. Norma takes her volunteer position very seriously and continues to encourage her contacts to get involved with SFMPI. So many people in the industry know Norma, and a number of our new members have joined the chapter because Norma personally reached out and invited them to be a part of SFMPI. She knows the value of marketing and is the ﬁ rst person to educate many of our supplier members about the beneﬁts of offering their properties and venues for monthly meetings and special events. Norma has an amazing recollection for names and speciﬁc information about those whom she meets, and everyone wants to help out when Norma asks for assistance. Currently Southern regional vice president at Premier Incentives, Norma has the reputation of being the consummate professional, widely regarded throughout the industry for her reputation and dedication. Her vast experience includes both national and international clients and venues. Norma brings years of experience in developing, planning, promoting, marketing and executing motivational incentive programs and corporate meetings. She has spent more than 30 years in both incentive and corporate travel planning, directing and managing sales and marketing for incentive and corporate travel. She has held executive-level positions at Puerto Rico’s most prestigious hotels, such as El San Juan Resort & Casino, El Conquistador Resort and the Condado Plaza Hotel & Casino. Additionally, she was responsible for incentive travel for the Williams Hospitality Group. Norma has also held executive positions with Executive Incentives and Travel and ATS Meetings and Incentives. As one of our colleagues on the South Florida chapter’s board of directors, Norma makes an impact on everyone she meets. This section of Florida Connects gives us the chance to thank the volunteers on our board, and it is ﬁtting that our ﬁ rst edition spotlights Norma.
