Society today is vocal about the need to conserve energy and limit our impact on the environment. But conservation is nothing new to the natural gas industry. In fact, residential natural gas consumers use 20 percent less gas per capita today than they did 20 years ago, primarily due to more efficient appliances, better insulation, and conservation. It is clear there is no single solution for our nation’s energy challenges. While we are making progress toward developing domestic renewable energy sources, it will still be many years before such resources make up a significant percentage of our total “ ” energy mix. We must make efficient use of all of our energy resources and natural gas is a responsible energy choice offering a viable, sustainable, and immediate positive environmental impact. And natural gas is an answer to America’s energy independence. It’s the responsible energy choice.
