Implement Success - Spring/Summer 2011 - (Page 36)
Western Canada Farm June 15-17, 2011 INNOVATING HOW WE The Western Canada Farm Progress Show has initiated the enhancement of the promotion for the companies that showcase their innovative products at the tradeshow. During last year’s show the Innovations and Energy Centre Committee led by Chairman Harvey Kuhar recognized the opportunity to improve how we can showcase all the innovations presented at the Farm Progress Show. “The previous program labeled as the New Inventions program was a great way to showcase products that are still coming to market or in concept stage,” says Kuhar “But it fell short when it came to promoting market-ready products that have been upgraded and made more efficient by companies.” Kuhar explains that these companies have listened to their customers and invested in research and development, therefore, they deserve to be acknowledged. This year’s revamped Innovations program allows companies to be recognized for their enhanced products that are exhibited in their company booths. The Innovation program will now showcase both new inventions and improved products that increase productivity, efficiency or safety from the previous model. Some of these products will be promoted prior to the event in a pre show advertising campaign in several magazines and newspapers. This is supported by Farm Business Communications with a distribution to 120,000 rural households. During the Farm Progress Show there will be a designated area within the Innovations and Energy Centre that will showcase all the innovation presented at the show. This will be accomplished by using a looped video presentation on large flat screened televisions and an area for the distribution of promotional literature. Qualified companies will be given an exclusive right to use the new Farm Progress Show Innovations logo for signage at the event. To highlight the innovations present at the Farm Progress Show, qualified companies will compete for Gold and Sterling Innovation Awards. A group of expert judges will evaluate each product and score it. A predetermined scoring system will determine if the innovative product will be awarded the Gold or Sterling level. Companies will be recognized at an awards presentation following the AMC convention at the Western Canada Farm Progress Show opening ceremonies on June 14. Following the awards presentation will be the AMC tradeshow and International Reception. “The Western Canada Farm Progress Show organizersers have embraced a new long term plan to increase both Domestic and Foreign buyers. We see this new strategy to showcase and promote innovation as a great tool to attract the most valuable buyers.” Rob O’Connor, Show Manager. “The Western Canada Farm Progress Show is proud to be the Show of Choice for AMC. We feel the revamped Innovation program will continue to prove the Farm Progress Show’s worth to its members.” ■ This year’s revamped Innovations program allows companies to be recognized for their enhanced products that are exhibited in their company booths. 36 Implement Success | www.a-m-c.ca
