BEACON COLLEGE (352) 787-7249 admissions@ beaconcollege.edu www.beaconcollege.edu It took time, work and the support, vision and persistence of the elected board members and Vicki Walker, coordinator, Orange County Department of Education. 2008 has been an exceptional year for school counselors and for the Regional Chapter of Orange County. OC-CASC has met the required 25 chapter members who are also members of the state CASC. Bylaws are approved, meetings are held regularly and the chapter is hosting workshops that allow for OC-CASC members to attend at a reduced registration fee. This year one of the members created a logo that is proudly displayed on golf shirts to identify board members. In the near future, OC-CASC will have approved letterhead and membership cards. The chapter has adopted the motto, Advocate, Collaborate, Educate: A Current of Change, to boldly represent its continuing commitment for providing the best support to the students it serves. OC-CASC believes in continuous improvement and will provide opportunities for professional growth to school counselors. As it deals with issues of need that are often unique to the Orange County population, it will become a voice of representation at state meetings and conferences. ■ 7:16:21 PM 14 400952_BeaconCollege.indd 1 The California School Counselor | winter 2008 9/25/08 http://www.beaconcollege.edu
